THE ITALIAN CHAMBER OF DEPUTIES HAS ADOPTED THE RESOLUTION THAT RECOGNIZES THE HIGH-ALTITUDE WINDS AS AN OFFICIAL ENERGY SOURCE

The Production Activities Commission of the Chamber of Deputies has recently approved a resolution for the recognition and promotion of the high altitude winds as a renewable source.
This represents a considerable step forward for KiteGen, which has been defined “the most promising technology for the high altitude winds exploitation”. This had already been pointed out by Giacomo Arsuffi, the Enea representative for the wind power sector, during a parliamentary hearing. Now, the Chamber of Deputies has confirmed the validity of this important source and, by approving the resolution, has shown its commitment to promote and facilitate its exploitation.
The resolution, presented by Ivan Della Valle on November 13, asks the Italian Government to “adopt measures to recognize the tropospheric winds or high altitude winds as a renewable energy source and to promote any suitable initiative aimed to encourage the development of technologies for the exploitation of tropospheric winds, including by facilitating the access to credit for investments and simplifying the financial support system for the R&D activities.”
With this resolution, a new and promising window is now open for KiteGen, which can finally hope for a concrete support from the central government.
